Fighting For Irish by Gina Maxwell

Title: Fighting for Irish
Author: Gina Maxwell
Genre: Contemporary Romance

Kat MacGregor has forty-eight hours to make good on the debt her ex-boyfriend owes a crime boss. Unfortunately, the measly tips she makes waitressing are barely enough for her to live on, much less cover the twenty-thousand needed to keep her breathing. With time running out, Kat 's forced to accept help from the only man who's ever made her feel fire rather than fear.

When he learns a friend's sister is in trouble, former Boston MMA fighter Aiden "Irish" O'Brien heads to Louisiana to offer himself up as collateral to keep her safe. But to satisfy the debt, he has to do the one thing he swore hed never do again: fight. With more than just money on the line, will Irish have what it takes to not only reclaim the man he once was, but become the man he needs to be for the woman he can't live without?
There are certain types of story lines that suck me in and I can't put them down. This book had that special addictive quality. A broken but amazingly strong Hero who teaches a battered and damaged woman how to feel beautiful and whole again.

Aiden "Irish" McGregor is a fighter in more than one since of the word. When this story begins he isn't a fighter in the ring because of a messed up night long ago but he is a fighter when it comes to those he cares about. One promise, and one favor is what brought Kat into his life. That day changed his entire future and also started putting the pieces back together of 2 very broken hearts.

I felt so many things while reading this beautiful love story. Kat's past completely gutted me emotionally. Her scars ran so deep and Aidan had a very big task ahead of him while having to keep so many secrets. When his protective instincts kicked in I was swooning and in awe.

How he helped Kat overcome her fear of intimacy with a man so very intense and just off the charts sweet.

“I wanna make you feel things you never thought possible.”
He brushed the golden-red waves behind her shoulders and sank his fingers through them at her nape.
“I wanna give you nothing but good things to remember from now on. So the past can never touch you again.”

Every page of this book just had so much passion and such beauty. I never wanted it to end and loved how hard Aidan fell. I highlighted so many parts in my Kindle I might have copied half the book. That is how powerful the dialogue was between these two lovers.
Even the inner thoughts burned up the pages and conveyed how much depth of feeling these two had for each other.
Every time Aidan touched Kat it was with almost reverence and the love story just blossomed like the healing that was going on inside of both of them.

There were some amazing characters that really brought so much to the canvas of this amazing piece of art. I look forward to reading more of this author and am totally hung over after falling hard for "Irish"
