Smoke and Mirrors (City Limits, #3) by M. Mabie @AuthorMMabie

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/38205564-smoke-and-mirrors

When I saw that this book was coming out well let's just say I squeeled a bit.
I really adored the previous books in this series and I can absolutely say that this one is my favorite. There's always gonna be a part of me that loves single mom books so much. Especially when the hero wants to provide and protect and step up where it counts even though there's no blood but there's such deep love driving him.

Aaron had the biggest heart of any hero I've read in such a long time. The scenes with he and Delaney will remain securely tucked away in my heart. That precocious little girl stole my heart at the same time she captured Aaron's. Faith really had a crappy time of it before Aaron came back. I feel like she held herself in a purgatory of her own making. Because she moved on and it all fell apart while Aaron was away, it's like she felt she didn't deserve to try again. Aaron held himself in the shadows so long. I still can't believe these two just danced around each other for years. But he was absolutely faithful from that day he came back.

Another weakness of mine is faithful, loyal, and gasp celibate heroes who hold out for the real thing.

The girls chat messages had me laughing so hard.

There's layer after layer of such romantic and emotional beauty here. Familiar faces pop up. This book just flowed the best way. What a beautiful ending too. I really hope Abby moves to Wynne and maybe another Wynne bachelor will fall for another single mom.

Thanks Ms. Mabie for such a lovely story and beautiful series.

The Smallest Part by Amy Harmon @aharmon_author

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/36599415-the-smallest-part

“In the end, only three things matter. How much you loved, how gently you lived, and how gracefully you let go of things not meant for you.”
- Unknown

There were so many moments of sheer shock and awe in this story that I can't seem to string together all my thoughts. I'm always left profoundly touched and shaken after I finish Amy Harmon's stories and this time is no different.
Amy Harmon is one author who I read blind. She's someone I trust emphatically to give me a story of flawed characters who are so truly real on the pages that I forget for a moment, lose myself while on the journey and become someone there in it with them. I feel their pain, I love with them and I learn and grow as they do.

The characters in all the previous books by Amy changed me in the only way a story can. Every time I open her book I simply take a deep breath and say , Ok let's do this.
 So begins The Smallest Part.
Here I am with Noah, Mercedes and Cora and I'm down that familiar rabbit hole again, lost in Amy's wonderland where people forgive, they love, they live. Truly human characters who make mistakes, lie and even break promises yet when you boil it all down, you've got only one choice.

 Mercy and forgiveness.

Mercedes gave away her heart to keep it. To save her own self from pain she sheltered herself from feeling and risking. Noah respected and loved her so much he let her choose.

The girl who was as much a part of him as the palms of his hands or the heart in his chest
Then life came in like a wrecking ball and their chance to rise from the wreckage began.

Pressure sometimes begets beautiful things.
The passion in this novel was brought to a completely different level yet kept that secret and special sense of intimacy. I felt more than heat, I felt emotion and tenderness. Simply put I felt the characters love.

The scenes in this book between these wonderful characters are so touching and raw that any human with a heart will undoubtedly feel tremendous emotion. There were secrets uncovered, shocking moments that left me absolutely stunned. This journey isn't something I want to ruin for anyone so I won't give more away. Just know that after I closed my kindle, I couldn't fathom starting another book for a good long time. My heart just couldn't hold anything else.

For that alone I can't recommend this story hard enough.

Watch Me Follow by Harloe Rae @harloerae

5

As a reader I'll admit that I stalk groups and discussions about certain types of books. When I see the terms #StalkerAlert or #PerfectHero or celibate hero and completely faithful. Well those terms have me anxious and excited for that story.

Harloe Rae is a new name for me and when I saw all the whispers about Watch Me Follow, well I simply had to read it. Ms. Rae simply gave us as readers a beautiful and touching story of first love, second chances and endless and unwavering devotion. What peeked (little pun intended)  my interest was the hero Ryker and his total fascinated stalking persona.

He was so broken yet so beautiful. He had the purest heart and simply received peace and tranquility in Lennon's presence.

His childhood broke my heart and I simply longed to comfort that sweet little boy. Lennon was cut off and sheltered yet her heart had that nurturing nature that was brought alive by Ryker.

I was pleased to see that this author didn't take the easy way by focusing on only their sexual and physical connections. She first opened their hearts, fed their souls and then and only then did she remove the last layer of the flesh. Sensual and emotional.

This read had everything I love. I see great things for Ms. Rae. I really hope she continues to write 100% devoted characters.

Love stories to me feel authentic if the characters remain true to their feelings and this sweet story had devotion on every page.

Dangerous Witness (Redemption Harbor #3) by Katie Reus

Brooks and Darcy were a fantastic addition to this suspenseful and passionate series. Katie has a knack for balancing emotional romance with edge of your seat action and mystery. In the last installment she gave us just enough info about Darcy and Brooks being on the outs and exactly how he found out what an idiot he was. This story picked up right after and Brooks is out to reclaim Darcy's heart. I love a hero who knows what he wants and also when he's wrong. But most of all I'll scream it from the  romance book loving  rooftops that a man who's loyal and waits for his woman is a real man. Pure devotion and lay your life down loyalty. That's what you'll find here in this fantastic series.

That isn't just the loyalty of our hero and heroine either. This team at Redemption Harbor is a brotherhood who is always there for each other. I simply can't get enough. And now I've gotta find more reading time so I can start binging Ms Reus other books. They are just that good.
