Innocent Target (Redemption Harbor #4) by Katie Reus

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/38477807-innocent-target

There's just something pure, something right and something refreshing about Katie Reus and her stories. What draws me to this
author is simply the trustworthiness of her characters. I am one who reads for an escape to feel deeply. I don't want to be bogged down by unnecessary drama . Katie gives you suspense, passion, romance and above all loyalty. You believe in her heroes and you feel protective of her couples. I just love her.

Innocent Target sucked me in from the first page. Axel seemed like a guy who walked a fine line between right and wrong and yet once you pulled back his layers you see him as the hero he truly is. Hadley recently became a full fledged member of a family and crew of people that would lay down their lives or take one in a heartbeat if someone or someone threatened her or one they loved.
This redemption harbor crew is the epitome of what family should be.

These men for sure protect and love their women like I search for in my romance. Axel fit right in and stole my heart like Hadley stole his.
This was a fantastic installment into a favorite series of mine. Loyal and protective heroes are my weakness. Katie always gives me that and a riveting plot.

Mercury Striking (The Scorpius Syndrome #1) by Rebecca Zanetti @RebeccaZanetti

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/25476654-mercury-striking

I want to start by saying I felt reading the prequel
The Scorpius Syndrome helped me greatly in understanding the world Ms. Zanetti created and portrayed in this fast-paced explosive story.

Lynne our heroine is not only strong but she's brave and extraordinarily smart. She's a brilliant scientist.. But that actually caused her whole ordeal. Head of the CDC infectious diseases she's infected herself by the nearly world ending bacterial infection.
This caused a blue heart for her and this blazing mark has danger at her door and she's running.

Jax Mercury is trained and ready.
He's got followers and he's going to do whatever it takes to protect their territory. Lynne comes walking in demanding help and asylum.

Jax immediately is drawn to Lynne and what follows is a breathtaking passionate story with two strong willed people finding just what they crave and need in each other.

Jax was a hero I had to peal back layers to get to his true heart. Dominant but protective. He was just so intense. Pure male and so mysterious.

Lynne tried to keep emotions at bay but these two connected on an elemental level.
There were so many side characters that absolutely stole my heart. Moments of sheer heartbreak and pure terror. But the bravery of this group of people took my breath away. Raze and Tace and you too Sami I really can't wait for your stories. September can't come soon enough.
If you love post apocalyptic romance with extreme emotions and profound connections you'll absolutely love this amazing story. I am so hooked.

Savannah Past Midnight (The Past Midnight # 2) by Christine Edwards @ceerotica

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/26229168-savannah-past-midnight

Christine Edwards swept me away again in this sexy mysterious and beautifully sexy vampire romance.

From the beginning I adored Colton.
He was alpha but respectful. Sexy and funny with a sarcastic edge.
“I’m not sure whether I like or detest you, cowboy.”
“Don’t matter. You’ll be mine soon enough and I assure you that
you’ll more than ‘like’ me then.”
He may have lived through a hellish childhood but it didn't fully damage his huge and wonderful heart. His protective nature had me swooning. It was a tough pill to swallow with Cosette being stronger and not necessarily needing that protection physically. But what she needed was a dominant and totally loyal lover. This author writes perfect heroes every time. I can't get enough of their bossy yet sweet ways.

Colton didn't give up and when it counted he listened and accepted with arms open wide. I was lost in this story from page one and didn't want to see it end. Totally addicted this authors heroes and her heroines are strong yet the perfect softness for these awesome alpha males. . I hope to get Katerina's story and really hope Christine will give her a man who can take all that strength and turn it to softness in his arms. Maybe a sexy strong shifter?
Either way I can't wait for more.

Unexpected Fate (Hope Town #1) by Harper Sloan @HarperSloan

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/18809943-unexpected-fate

I completely am head over heals for this entire cast of passionate characters. Cohen was amazing and his Dani-girl was the perfect balance of fire and softness for his inherited alpha male personality. This beautiful love story had everything that I love. A loyal but sometimes humanly flawed couple who had so many obstacles against them. But for every wall they encountered.. there was this undeniable passion and intense connection that pushed them over around or crashing through those walls.

Two souls.. connected by a history. and by destiny.. years in the making. This brought us to a breathtaking love and sheer beauty. I'm a forever fan of this book and the series that started it all.

Obligation (Underground Kings #2) by Aurora Rose Reynolds @auroraroseR

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/21063639-obligation

Every time I start a book by this author I want to hide away so that I won’t have any interruptions. I want quiet and comfort because I know I’m going to be swept away and not want to leave my little bubble until my couple gets their HEA. While this installment was a tad different it still checked all the boxes of what I need and what I want from my romance. Kai was the perfect balance of sweet to bossy and possessive to protective. I adored this big guy so much. For such a dominant bossy guy he was so romantic ..major swooning moments occurred.

Myla was his light in a world of brutality and darkness. He knew she was his before his heart accepted it and even when it would have been safer to walk away ..in the end he knew that there wasn’t any way he’d be able to. There were some moments of confusion for me as I wish I’d have seen more into what happened to them before the book started but maybe Aurora will gift us with a little novella later. To me I never can have enough of this authors work. It always keeps me smiling and happy no matter what.

The Charlotte Chronicles (Jackson Boys #1) by Jen Frederick - @JenSFred

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/23485139-the-charlotte-chronicles

Jen Frederick has totally turned my heart upside down. First of all with so many books out there I quickly find myself behind on series that I love. Especially those little surprising epilogues and novellas that these favorite authors just pop out there. I realized when I started The Chronicles of Charlotte that I had missed something. It was Unspoken - The Epilogue & Undressed which is the epilogue to Unraveled which is the epilogue to Undeclared. So I learned quickly that this pairing of Nathan and Charlotte was a brilliant and romantic spin off of my favorite characters children. What started off as a rough ride..because I really wasn't sure about Nate's real intentions towards 15 yr old Charlotte. But quickly I realized his feelings had just recently grew into something different and he wasn't sure how to proceed with her being so young. There was no cheating in this book. That is one thing I want to make sure everybody knows. Was Nathan a little sex crazy teenager before Charlotte? Yes .he was 17 LOL ..but after he touched her NOOO

Once they became a couple ..life kept throwing them bombs after bombs and ..this was pure angst for me. I was so mad at Nathan but at the same time I felt so bad for him. I am not sure that I could have ever forgiven such a drastic cold shoulder for that long. But this love was so strong and so vast that nothing ..not a decade of time or evil witches could keep these two apart.

The fact that they were completely and utterly true to each other even apart for 9 yrs was the most romantic thing an author has written in so long. I loved Nate so much for that and Charlotte..she was just the most gracious and loving girl ever. The road together was filled with so much passion and then still so much pain and trying times but what I found was a couple that would fight and fight hard every single day.

I cried and I laughed and I was in total romance bliss. I really just can't wait for more from this genuine ROMANCE writer. Now Jen..I'm ready for Nick and Lainie!!
