Walled (The Line #2) by Anne Tibbets - @WriteforCoffee

My  review can be seen here   from Carrier (The Line #1) and it  will tell you how much I loved this world that Anne Tibbets has created and engraved into my heart. I was so excited when the new installment was offered and I dove at the chance to review for the Walled Blog Tour. I wanted more of Naya and Ric and wanted more of the cast of brave and quirky characters that she penned life right into. I was so not disappointed!  I'm telling you that from the moment that Walled began I was sucked right back into a world of such despair but such hope at the same time living right under neath that layer of anguish and hopelessness. How did Anne carry off such a feet? She gave us the Carrier ..yea I never saw Naya as that kind of carrier, the one with the special inoculation. I saw Naya as the Carrier of  HOPE , FAITH and so much STRENGTH & especially  TRUTH  Yes she gave me HOPESTRENGTH. She had this in spades.  FAITH, While at times she faltered, she never really gave up and never wanted to just let they chaos reign.  She wanted to believe in HUMANITY again. TRUTH for everyone to stop lying and hiding behind walls and rules and dictatorship. I found she was a heroine that was so special that  I actually wanted to be like her.  In my books 99% of the time, I'm swept away by the HERO ..but in this series by far Naya was truly the saving grace.  What was I saying about my HEROES?  Ric "Doc" was a true HERO because in everything he did he was so HUMAN and I completely and utterly ADORED this man. I am telling you that I wanted to jump through my Kindle and carry him away ..he was that amazing. He wasn't perfect, he wasn't always the strongest but he was REAL and FLAWED like real MEN are. I truly think Anne Tibbets has a direct line to a mans thoughts because she couldn't have written him more honestly and real then she did.  Do I love romance?? HELL YES, did this have a love story? OMG YES!! But it was so much more than that. It was about survival and bravery right along with staying loyal to the ones that love you and you love in return. It was about Family! Ric never gave up on Naya even when she doubted herself. They had so much to overcome ..her past, their future, oh gosh so much. But they did and every single page left me in AWE And WONDER. Everybody knows I love my sizzling romances. But the love scenes that take my breath away are the ones that take two people and make them one. Naya and Ric had such a profound union that I was left with tears in my eyes and a since of peace in my heart. It truly was an epic scene.   I was floored so many times and shocked others. I had moments of bawling like a freaking baby. Not always was it over sad things. Yes there was devastation, but I cried over things that we take for granted every single day that God graces us on this planet to live FREE when others aren't able to do so and don't have simple luxuries that we just don't even bat an eye at. I cried, I laughed a few times but most of all I HOPED and felt like I FOUGHT right along with this amazing, extraordinary and REAL cast of characters.  YOU have to read this, it's just hat good!! Anne...standing ovation..you are my HERO!!

Carrier (The Line #1) by Anne Tibbets

Oh man!!!!!    Where do I start? First of all  Warning!!!  This is not    YOUR TYPICAL ROMANCE.    While there is a beautiful burgeoning love story in the making this is not a complete romance!! But you now what?? I freaking loved it so freaking much. !!    We have Naya, who has been a sex slave for 9 years. She is suddenly released and told she is pregnant with  twins. The world is post apocalyptic. Very dystopian type society. Families sell their daughters to The line for 10 year service contracts. The Line is a prostitution program where girls are forced to have sex and do not go outside or leave at all. They are locked into sleeping chambers at night. I perform my job ten times a day. Seven days a week. For nine years. You do the math.  When Naya is released she has been beaten badly. They tell her that she has to find a replacement for the rest of her term (1 yr) or they will take her babies.  From this point on this story is a roller coaster of adventure. So many characters and each and every one of them add something very important to this story.  Ric "Doc" is an amazing man. He is running a free medical clinic. Naya goes to get her pregnancy confirmed and to be checked out. He is so gentle and compassionate with her and immediately he is drawn to her and she to him. But after such a traumatic past Naya is very very afraid of human touch. So Ric is a friend and a protector but they start to care for each other deeply.  Ric's friends Tym and Sonya were so freaking special to me. I loved Sonya's attitude and bravery. I was on the edge of my seat this entire book and woke up having dreams about it to grab my Kindle and start reading some more. I devoured it in mere hours.  I am a romantic at heart and I was so enthralled with how I felt Ric and Naya belonged together and I can tell the next book should delve more deeply into a their romance.  I look forward to the sequel with bated breath and will drop everything to read it.   So much sadness and at the same time so much humanity amongst the disgusting treatment..the heroes were hidden and when they stepped forward..it took my breath away. Anne wrote a brilliant story with a fantastic portrayal of society after greed takes over and I was intrigued and over whelmed by the sights, smells and emotions she brougth forth into an amazing story. I am hooked..all the way.

4 Frustrating Sizzling Stars 

So I was looking forward to an adult post apocalyptic/dystopian type romance. I found one in Waterproof. This book was jam packed with suspense, action and freaking frustrating romance.


Water, something that we take for granted but something so vital is like the greatest commodity and Viv and Zach along with some pretty amazing characters are fighting for their lives. Viv is a fighter and Zach doesn't try to lead Viv ..they stand right beside each other. The romance was beautiful.

Best friend to lovers but, of course in this type of story you know it's gonna be a painful road to any kind of happiness. I did enjoy it though because I knew going in these aren't rainbows and jelly beans types of reads. I found that the love story though really was tragically beautiful and I loved the scenes between Viv and Zach.

I said between breaths and kisses. Zach’s hands pulled through my hair, rough enough to yank me back, but gentle enough for me to know this was part of the game. “I’ve wanted this to happen for so long,” he said.

So many emotional moments and a whole lot of suspense kept this story entertaining and at the same time very frustrating. I wanted to scream so many times but I kept flipping pages. I knew by 80% there was no way we were going to get a HEA or even an HFN. I sighed...but I still was hopeful.
But alas, the book gods were not listening. I am accepting it now but I still felt like this for a little while

Then I got over it. I know thse two belong together and I'm actually pretty excited to see them kick some more ass. Thanks Amber for keeping me on the edge of my seat and all the nail biting and frayed nerves.
