Innocent Target (Redemption Harbor #4) by Katie Reus

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/38477807-innocent-target

There's just something pure, something right and something refreshing about Katie Reus and her stories. What draws me to this
author is simply the trustworthiness of her characters. I am one who reads for an escape to feel deeply. I don't want to be bogged down by unnecessary drama . Katie gives you suspense, passion, romance and above all loyalty. You believe in her heroes and you feel protective of her couples. I just love her.

Innocent Target sucked me in from the first page. Axel seemed like a guy who walked a fine line between right and wrong and yet once you pulled back his layers you see him as the hero he truly is. Hadley recently became a full fledged member of a family and crew of people that would lay down their lives or take one in a heartbeat if someone or someone threatened her or one they loved.
This redemption harbor crew is the epitome of what family should be.

These men for sure protect and love their women like I search for in my romance. Axel fit right in and stole my heart like Hadley stole his.
This was a fantastic installment into a favorite series of mine. Loyal and protective heroes are my weakness. Katie always gives me that and a riveting plot.

Whiskey Neat (Uncertain Saint's MC #1) by Lani Lynn Vale @LaniLynnVale

This series started off with a bang. Griffin and Lenore were a riot together. From their initial meeting which had me in stitches to their passionate journey through ups and downs I was hooked.
Lani changed things up quite a bit with this new cast of characters. While she kept true to the spirit she keeps in all her books ..loyal characters and suspenseful plots..this one had an edge. These heroes are going to come very close to the line of right and wrong but you'll love them even more for it.
I was seriously holding on tight to my kindle wondering what Griffin would do next. But one thing that kept me smiling was the crazy and funny banter between these two. It wasn't all smiles and jokes though. Oh my Griffin.
This deeply intriguing hero had demons and it looks like all of these gruff yet deeply enigmatic men of the Uncertain Saints will have their past battles to wage.
For Griffin it was tragedy that no person should have to suffer. Lenore along with some batteries shined light into his life in more ways than he expected. While there were times Griffin played the martyr, Lenore didn't stand by and take it. Which makes all the difference for me in any book where there is what I call "pushing away" .. This feisty heroine fought for her man. She didn't chase him..she laid BAIT.. and well when it was time she caught HIM forever.

Staying loyal and true to each other through it they fought their fight till the final bell and the victory was a beautiful life.

I'm curious to see all the ways Lani will heal these broken men and the women to provide the best medicine. Love ..

Right To My Wrong (The Heroes of The Dixie Wardens MC #8) by Lani Lynn Vale @lanilynnvale

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/27430797-right-to-my-wrong

Lani how do you do it? Every time you breathe life into a new couple I think wow I'm not sure who is my favorite. I absolutely can't describe properly how much I loved Sterling. He was simply such a great man.  He truly was a hero in every way.
A TRUE STERLING EXAMPLE
The fact he came from a crappy childhood to a life of a Navy Seal showed true steel.

In between he grew the bonds of friendship and brotherhood with his team's from the military and his biker brothers. But also his foster brothers. I cried millions of tears and my heart still aches. I thought that Ruthie was so supportive yet at the same time vulnerable enough to bring out Sterling's protective side.

I adored how pleased this alpha male felt each time Ruthie claimed him in even the smallest ways. Ruthie could've crumbled under the devastation she lived through. But her character was through and through built on strength and persevering. I rooted for these two from the start all the way through.
I can't say enough how deeply this romance lover appreciated the lack of drama that some books are filled with nowadays. This author is talented enough to create stories based on trials that bring her couples closer together. Not unnecessary issues that just weaken the love story. I absolutely loved so many moments and I devoured this book like all the prior ones. Little surprises and perfect epilogue left me smiling for sure.

Another 5 star winner Lani.

Charlie Foxtrot (Code 11-KPD Swat #5) by Lani Lynn Vale @LaniLynnVale

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/25700512-charlie-foxtrot

I'm so totally in love with the amazing characters that this gifted author creates in every single story. Foster had some history that included wallbanging sex that almost ended up as negligent homicide by fornication.

Yea, pretty big man slut, that is what Foster was before his accident. I was happy to read that when the wall came down though the man slut hung up his bed hopping card. Then the terrifying accident came and Foster changed in more ways than one. This brave and amazing guy didn't let this keep him down.. He used it to make him stronger. That's not saying he wasn't worried that a woman might see him as less. But thankfully the woman that caught his eye and his heart was a spitfire that saw he was a man of Steel even before his leg was put on each day. Blake was probably the most vulnerable heroine Lani has written to date in my opinion. She felt like she had been abandoned after her cheating ex and the divorce that decided assets and friends. Even to the point of her mom picking sides.
This left her with a feeling of not being good enough. But Foster quickly showed her she was desirable and lovable. He wasn't perfect but even when he made the most stupid choices.. (certain neighbor he left to sit with Blake) he made up for it and sometimes a simple I'm sorry goes a long way. He replaced all those bad memories with good ones and brought amazing people into her life to be called her new family.

Of course the crazy family brought Lani's signature humor to the story and before I knew it I was totally lost in the story. One of my favorite characters in this story was not a person..but he didn't know that.

“Boom goes the dynamite!” Boris sang.

Every time they had sex this bird cracked me up!!

Mystery and action always plays a huge part and Lani balances this with the sexy and sweet love story with blazing scenes of passion between Foster and Blake.
I will say I cried like a baby a few times. With the best ending and epilogue ever I'll remember this story for a long time. I am so happy this author writes like the energizer bunny because I just can't wait for more.

The Navy SEAL's E-Mail Order Bride (The Heroes of Chance Creek #1) by Cora Seton

The Navy Seal's E-Mail Order Bride was a refreshing reminder of a sweet romance. It's very very common these days that the popular theme among romance is
"temporary". It always starts with .."oh we are just hooking up "or "this is just sex"
. It's hard to find books that are just up front and honest about what's going on. Here we have a strong and brave hero who isn't afraid of marriage or fatherhood. He's diving in and he's not shy about it. Did he have a catalyst to speed things up? Yes but it didn't change the fact that when he started looking he was determined to get it right the first time. The thing that really got me was that once they really started being a couple, Cora Seton kept things real. They had real struggles and real solutions. I loved the obstacle course and the way Regan went about winning that race.
PRETTY SNEAKY! For romance lovers and the "Safe" book hunters like myself you can't go wrong in anyway with this sweet and sexy romance A hero that is 100% committed from the first conversation and not one moment of angst regarding what he wanted. Mason was totally Perfect Alpha material.
I loved this book and I was totally smitten the whole time. I can't wait to see what else this author has for me.

Locke (Corps Security #5) by Harper Sloan - @HarperSloan

If you are familiar with the Corps Security series then like every other reader out there we’ve been anxiously awaiting Maddox Locke’s story.

Brooding, temperamental, moody  Maddox Locke set hearts beating like crazy from the moment he was introduced in this series.

From his painful past that we all wanted to know about to his big heart that he couldn’t hide. This guy is one character that burrowed under my skin and I just wanted to see him find happiness so badly. Emmy was a surprise. What we thought as this little meek and mild sweet girl was a feisty woman who had battled demons nobody should have to encounter in such a young life. The tragedy that drove Emmy away pushed her right back into her nightmare. Maddox wasn’t going to stand by any longer and he was set out to get Emmy and bring her home. What transpires is a story of passion, healing and trust. Maddox had to accept that Emmy was the one person that loved him scars and all.

These two souls belonged together and although there were so many obstacles that wanted to keep them apart true love would not be denied.

The entire cast was involved and there were the normal humor and excitement. The one thing about this series that captured my heart and thousands of hearts around the world was the unique and loving family of misfits . Each Hero this author created and their loved ones have etched themselves into our hearts and our minds and will make this one series that will always be special and a favorite of so many readers. The next generation of the Corps Security kids are coming and I just can’t wait.
